CONFIRMED! Call of Duty is returning to World War 2
ACTIVISION has officially revealed the new Call of Duty, a WW2 themed game released later this year. Here’s everything we know so far.
Activision has officially revealed their brand new WW2 Call of Duty game, from Sledgehammer Games, the developers behind 2014’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
‘Call of Duty: WW2’ was announced by Activision this evening together with the game’s first piece of official box art and an official website.
As promised by Activision previously, this new entry in the yearly Call of Duty series is going “back to its roots” with a WW2 setting that will hopefully spark similar levels of interest as Battlefield 1 last year.
Although Activision has said this party line once before, including last year’s ultra sci-fi influenced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Sledgehammer Games studio co-founder Michael Condrey has openly stated the game will be a return to ” boots on the ground” combat.
The only thing missing from today’s announcement is footage of the game in action, but it has been confirmed that Sledgehammer Games will showcase this in full next week as part of a special livestream.
The official Call of Duty: WW2 livestream will take place on the 26th April at 6PM BST.
A release date hasn’t been mentioned, but a previous leak has suspected that the game will arrive on November 3.
