Euro 2016

Read Madrid and Wales International winger Gareth Bale has been announced as the cover star of Konami‘s UEFA EURO 2016 game, yes we’re surprised the game isn’t made by EA Sports too.

Bale helped take Wales to Euro 2016 and his reward for doing so will be to get on the cover of the game, although we’re sure he’d like to lift the Euro 2016 trophy itself, but we all know that’s going to England… *tumble weed rolls.

Free or Paid?

Well that depends entirely on whether or not you already own the game on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 or PC. If you do own a copy of PES 2016 on the following platforms then you will receive this as a free content update on March 24th, however those who do not own a copy of PES 2016 can purchase this as a physical or digital stand alone editions on April 21st.

Although buying the stand alone version of the game gives players the chance to obtain Bale via the bonus content for myClub. myClub is a hugely popular mode in PES 2016 (similar format to FIFA’s Ultimate Team) along with with exclusive myClub rewards, agents, Euro agents and 10,000GP a week for 10 weeks!

24 teams will compete in France starting from June 10th, battling along until the final takes place a whole month later on July 10th in Stade de France. 50 matches will be played in this space, showcasing Europe’s finest talents.

Gareth Bale is one of the hottest properties in world football, so we are delighted that he is the face of our UEFA EURO 2016 content for PES 2016. His skill and ability make him the perfect fit for a game that will showcase the capabilities of Europe’s greatest national sides. He will be integral to Wales during the competition, and we are delighted that he will be gracing the packaging and in-game content of our UEFA EURO 2016 content.

stated Erik Bladinieres, European Brand Director of Football for Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.

It certainly sounds like it’s shaping up to be an exciting tournament, take control of your favourite national side and lead them to European glory…

How do I put this... from the moment I was born I was trying to grab a controller. Gaming is part of my DNA, if I didn't have gaming I honestly don't know what I would do with myself. Nothing beats switching off from the real world and dropping into an apocalyptic world on very hard setting with one bullet remaining, 10 super charged enemies and 10% of health left...
